Hi guys, my name is Cheryl and I am 46 years old. I was born with congenital dislocation of the hips and a club foot.
I had many operations, traction and plaster cast when I was younger. I always remember my Grandad making me a large skateboard to help me get around.
One of my scars got an infection and I ended up with an abscess and this left a dip in my leg.
When I first met my husband, I was scared of showing him my scars but he was very kind and understanding. I decided to get an operation to get it tidied up.
I walk with a limp and always have some pain but I have learned to cope. Around 10 years ago I had a hip replacement as the pain got quite bad… and I was the youngest person on the ward.
I manage to go to the gym at least 3 times a week which I love. Jogging on the treadmill is a little tricky as my balance isn’t great so have to hold on with one hand but I don’t let that stop me.
I hope you guys like my story.
